The Witcher's Alchemy Chest

As a huge fan of The Witcher series, Rob of Further Fabrication was inspired to create his own version of Geralt's wooden travel chest. Set in a medieval fantasy world, witchers are professional monster hunters, using alchemy to help take down all manner of monsters.

Wanting the chest to fit in with The Witcher lore, but not be too obvious, Rob drew a lot of inspiration from alchemy and astronomy diagrams, with a splash of references from The Witcher video games. The runes on the side are a paraphrased version of one of his favourite quotes from the series "Evil is Evil. Lesser, greater, middling… Makes no difference. The degree is arbitrary. The definition’s blurred. If I’m to choose between one evil and another… I’d rather not choose at all."

Made from Rimu, the chest was built entirely by hand with all of the details laser etched using his custom-built laser cutter. Watch the video to see how he made the whole thing - and if you want to try making your own he has provided the artwork in PDF format on his website.
