Wanting to device an easy and cheap to produce a braille learning device, ramonable has put together an Instructable to show you how.
Grade-1 English braille is a simple letter by letter transcription, which makes this a perfect project for anyone beginning to learn to read braille; simply use a braille font to write out a list of words and laser etch it into acrylic. Whilst texturally different to the standard embossed braille, it is apparently just as easy to read.
